Months ago I set up some alerts in Google Alerts, but only recently did they start actually emailing me with results from those alerts. Weird, but I'm glad though, now I can finally use it to alert me to specific words in newsgroups all over the place.
Someone calling themselves Dave Smith capitalises on having a common name and gets lots of email for people that aren't him. He writes, "This blog documents the fun I've had being other people who have the same name as myself." A fine example of double checking your recipients when emailing others!
